Data Sources
Official sources and methodologies for all data presented in this tracker
Data Collection
All data is sourced from official central banks, government statistical agencies, and reputable financial data providers. We prioritize primary sources (central banks) over secondary sources whenever possible to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Update Frequency
Money supply data: Monthly (published by central banks with 1-2 month lag). Interest rates: Updated as announced by central banks. Market flow data: Monthly aggregates from fund flow tracking services. Crypto data: Daily market cap and volume, monthly flow aggregates.
Currency Conversion
All non-USD values are presented in local currency (CNY for China, EUR for EU, JPY for Japan) to avoid exchange rate distortions. For cross-country comparisons, we use GDP ratios and per capita metrics which are currency-neutral.
Historical Data
Historical time series extend back to 2001 for money supply and interest rates, and 2023 for market flow data. Crypto data begins in 2023 due to limited historical ETF availability (Bitcoin ETFs launched January 2024).
